Saturday, April 26 - BMW Owners' Club Cruz for a Cure for Parkinson's Disease
Over 60 BMWs and drivers will arrive at River Dunes for lunch at the Harbor Club. A great chance to see some beautiful cars in a spectacular setting that benefits a worthy cause.

Saturday, May 24 - Harbor Club Opening Celebration
It's the Grand Opening of River Dunes Harbor Club and Pool. The agenda includes a poolside lunch buffet from 11:00-2:00 and afternoon activities for the whole family. Later, Dancing on the Deck will feature the old standards and beach music of Middle Street Moods from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Reservations are required. Call 800-975-9565 for information.

Saturday, June 21 - Arts by the Harbor
10:00 - 3:00 The first annual Sidewalk Art Show on River Dunes' Grace Harbor. Local artists, potters, fabric artists, furniture makers, jewelry designers and more will be displaying and selling their works in the outdoor market place and around the Harbor Club and on Chapel Square. Lunch will be available.

11:00 A seminar on Interior Design will take participants through the Coastal Living Idea House at River Dunes to discuss design features, color palette, furnishings and architecture.

Harbor Club Welcomes General Manager and Chef

River Dunes Harbor Club is pleased to announce that Bruce Furman (left) has joined as General Manager. Bruce comes to River Dunes from The Point Lake and Golf Club in Mooresville, NC. Prior to The Point, he was at The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL. Bruce brings to the Harbor Club a thorough understanding of the finest club management practices and excellence in customer service.

Joining the Harbor Club as sous chef, Robert Carmen (right) brings a sound knowledge of fine cuisine, having worked in various kitchens, including The Peninsula in Charlotte, NC and New Bern Golf and Country Club. Robert has already shown his innovative culinary skills at several recent Harbor Club dinner events.

Harbor Club Opens for Summer Activities

The Harbor Club will officially kick off the Summer of 2008 in grand style on Saturday, May 24. The Harbor Club pool, complete with two spas, fireplaces and pool snack bar will open at 10:00 a.m. A lunch buffet will be served poolside from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

At 4:00 p.m., the sounds of Middle Street Moods will fill the harbor with old standards and beach music for Dancing by the Deck. This 7 piece combo is a crowd-pleasing local favorite.

Dinner will be served in the Main Dining Room of the Harbor Club from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Look for River Dunes Waterman Series starting in August

Plans are now underway for a series of 3 coastal lifestyle weekends at River Dunes. The first in the series will focus on shrimping and crabbing. Participants will be learn by hands-on experience with local fishermen how to catch shrimp and crabs in the waters around River Dunes. The day on the water will conclude with a traditional coastal NC feast that incorporates the catch of the day.

The second weekend in the series will focus on catching the Big Drum that run in the early fall in the rivers and Sound. Experienced guides will take participants out for early morning and/or evening drum fishing. For those who prefer to stay inshore, lessons on fly-fishing will be held at The Lake House.

The third weekend will offer participants the opportunity to attend the Core Sound Decoy Festival at Harker's Island, a Down East NC tradition. The day will wrap up with an authentic Oyster Roast and Bonfire at The Lake House at River Dunes.

These weekends will be open to River Dunes preferred customers and owners by reservation only.
