Brief: "Lieutenant Governor Bev Perdue: Answering the River's Call" -- (Perdue) likened the similarities of New Bern's historical charm ane proximity to the water to channeling the belief that New Bern was every bit as coastal-superb as Charleston, SC, or Savannah, GA. She knew that the town's heritage and the rivers made New Bern unique and that the biggest economic driver would be the water quality.
