The water: simply put, it's all about the water. You can stand on the sandy shoreline of the Neuse River and watch the vast array of boats traveling on the ICW along the Pamlico Sound, or canoe down Cedar Creek and watch the graceful flight of a great blue heron, or from the protected 400 slip marina, you can head out for the day either to sail the legendary fair winds of the Neuse River or cross Pamlico Sound to the Outer Banks for a day of salt-water fishing, and be home in time for dinner.
The land: with over 14 miles of shoreline, is a natural setting for the establishment of the next great waterfront community. Lining the creeks and rivers is abundant land so that virtually every home has a water view. With deep creeks, winding marshes and lush forests of pines and hardwoods, River Dunes is a natural habitat for many species of birds, mammals and aquatic life. There are endless possibilities for homesites, waterways to explore, and always easy access to the Sound, the ICW, and the Gulf Stream.
The architecture: one of the most important elements in the River Dunes master plan. Drawing upon traditional coastal architectural styles and town-planning practices, it exemplifies the best of the region's landscape and character. From low-country and tidewater bungalows to stately Beaufort-style homes, the architecture at River Dunes creates a sense of place. To ensure high standards and consistency the developer has teamed with the world renowned architects and town planners, Historical Concepts, Inc. to develop a pattern book outlining the vision for River Dunes. Historical Concepts will also assemble a Habitat Review Board to approve house plans and preserve the original vision of the Community. And to simplify the process for the homeowners, the Board will offer a list of approved architects, builders, and landscape designers.
The lifestyle: River Dunes is a living community. We have provided a rich natural environment that will offer the opportunity for a fulfilling social, recreational, and cultural life according to your own personal needs, from the heart of the maritime village to the expansive views of the Pamlico Sound. River Dunes is also enhanced by it's wonderful facilities for dining, swimming, tennis, and canoeing, fine river and creek fishing, as well as biking and walking trails. Other amenities will include: 28-acre harbor with state-of-the-art floating docks; Spa and Wellness facility; River Club overlooking the Neuse River; Nature Center and Adventure Lodge with kayak and canoe launch; Marina Village with retail center, Inn, post office, and yacht club.
