Tennis Time is Getting Closer!
Warm spring weather allows the tennis court crew to make progress on the two Har-tru courts going in at River Dunes. The new courts are located just down the street from the Harbor Club. Club members - get those racquets ready! It won't be long before the play will begin.
Two Boat Shows this Weekend for River Dunes!
Not one, but two big boat shows are going on this weekend, and River Dunes will be at both of them! Stop by and visit our display in Tent A at the Bay Bridge Show in Kent Island, MD on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. For tickets and show hours, visit Bay Bridge Boat Show Information.

2014 Leukemia Cup Regatta Kick-Off at River Dunes
The 2014 Leukemia Cup Regatta at River Dunes kicked off with a reception at the Harbor Club featuring honored guests, the Delany family with their 18 month old daughter, a leukemia survivor.
Cindy Campbell, Chairman of the Regatta at River Dunes, and Emily Blust and of the NC Leukemia and Lyphoma Society were on hand to talk about the research and patient services funded by the Regatta.Over 75 guests enjoyed refreshments as they learned how to register their boats for this year's Regatta, to be held June 6-8.
River Dunes President Ed Mitchell welcomed guests and announced this year's fund-raising goal of $140,000.
The highlight of the evening was honored guest speaker, Gary Jobson, five-time America's Cup sailor and commentator for ESPN, himself a blood cancer survivor. Gary showed a video and gave a fascinating recount of this year's America's Cup race.

Fire Station going up!
The new substation for Southeast Pamlico Volunteer Fire Department, located on Orchard Creek Road just across from River Dunes main entrance, is making headway. With the weather cooperating, walls are going up, and the building is beginning to take shape. The substation with serve the residents of the town of Pamlico and nearby communities. More construction photos will follow as the station takes shape.
River Dunes Owners Head Home on their New Boat
The Fitzpatricks, River Dunes owners, took possession of their new boat in Palm Beach, FL recently. They are spending a few days getting her outfitted before heading north to her home port, Grace Harbor at River Dunes. As they put it, "Mosey On will slip her lines and turn north on the 11th with stops pretty much anywhere that captures our interest…all at a stately 7 knots or so."

River Dunes hits the Road to DC Real Estate Show
This past weekend, members of the River Dunes Team headed to Tysons Corner, VA for an Ideal Living Real Estate Expo. Attended by over 1300 people, the show was a big success. We always enjoy talking about River Dunes, and we had a great opportunity to do just that! Our next road trip is to Kent Island, MD for the Bay Bridge Boat Show. Hope to see you there!
Game Night at the Harbor Club
One of the Harbor Club traditions is a Midwinter Game Night, usually held on a Saturday in January. This year, Club Members turned out for a delicious dinner, followed by games downstairs in the Chandlery. The participants took turns at three games of skill and chance - Poker, Pictionary and the dice game Left, Right, Center. The ladies team walked away with a decisive win the the fiercely contested Pictionary finals.
New Year's Eve at the Harbor Club
It was a night to remember! Owners and Club Members at River Dunes rang in the New Year with a fabulous five course dinner, dancing to the sounds of the fantastic RISSE band, and the traditional Ball Drop. This year, the ball was dropped at midnight from the mast of the Forgione family sailboat, docked just outside the Harbor Club. The Harbor Club looked beautiful, and so did the guests. It was a great night, and here are a few photos of the fun we had!

Dancing to the sounds of the RISSE band from Raleigh will start at 8:30 p.m. with lead singer, Jaisun, who sang with Martha and the Vandellas, keeping the energy high with a wonderful show. The Annual Ball Drop and Champagne Toast will take place at midnight with balloons, hats and horns galore.

More New Neighbors in Oyster Point
Over Thanksgiving weekend, the Duttry family moved into their new custom home in the Oyster Point neighborhood of River Dunes. As is our tradition, we welcomed them to the community with a pair of new cruising bikes. We're so happy to watch this neighborhood grow, and we're looking forward to lots of great times with all our residents!
