Recent Boater Blogs about River Dunes
We're pleased to report that they are raving about a favorite boater amenity at River Dunes... "a spa-quality shower with six shower heads and optional steam", and the nightly boater dinners that River Dunes hosts during the Fall while ICW boaters travel south.
If you aren't a blogger, you can leave your review of the River Dunes marina on ActiveCaptain.com or MarinaLife.com. Thanks for visiting, Tom & Doris!
A Lovely Fall Wedding at River Dunes
A beautiful Saturday in October made for a picture perfect wedding day for Lisa and Nat. They were married at the Chapel, left by horse drawn carriage, and celebrated with a wonderful reception at the Harbor Club. Lisa used natural flowers with lanterns, wine bottles and Mason jars wrapped in burlap and lace to create a warm ambiance at the Chapel and the Harbor Club. It was lovely day and a truly special occasion.
More Construction Photos - Tennis Courts, Fire Station, New Home
The fall of 2013 has offered beautiful weather for all the construction activity going on in the community. Work continues on the two new Har-tru tennis courts, located in the Harbor Village at River Dunes. Grading, compacting and leveling are going on every day, weather permitting.
At the same time, site prep for the new Fire and EMS Station, located just across from River Dunes main entrance on Orchard Creek Road, is well underway.
Custom home construction in the Oyster Point neighborhood continues as well, with the Davis home nearing completion; and the Duttry family preparing to move in their new home in time for Thanksgiving.
A Gorgeous Fall Day at River Dunes
This weekend was picture perfect at River Dunes. The fall skies were Carolina blue, the temperature was moderate, and the marina was full of boats. Here are a few shots we snapped of the marina and Harbor Club. It's a great time to visit.
2013 Property Owners Weekend was a Blast!
This year's annual Owners Homecoming Weekend turned out to be one of the best ever! The weather was beautiful, food was delicious and plentiful, and everyone had a great time. The events started with a Welcome Picnic at the home of Bill and Dianne Jayne.
On Saturday morning, over 60 owners gathered for the Annual Meeting in the Harbor Club, followed by lunch at the home of Gene and Cindy Campbell.
After lunch, owners disbursed for afternoon activities that included trout fishing, clay shooting, a walk with the Developer, kayaking, and an open house at the recently completed Duttry home.
On Saturday evening, Watermark Custom Homes of NC and The Red Rickshaw hosted a wine and cheese at the home of John Wild and Kathy Redmond. Immediately after the wine and cheese, owners gathered on the Harbor Club lawn and under the tent for an Oyster Roast with dancing to the sounds of The Tone Peddlers.
The weekend wrapped up with breakfast on Sunday morning, followed by a Chapel service. We're already looking forward to the next time we get together with our owners at River Dunes!
Here come the tennis courts!
Driving into the Harbor Village this beautiful fall morning, the grading and prep work for the new Har-tru tennis courts was a welcome sight. It won't be long before owners and guests will be able to enjoy the state-of-the-art lighted courts for year round play. Get your racquets warmed up - we'll follow the progress of our newest amenity over the next few weeks.

River Dunes selected as Best Customer Service Marina
River Dunes has been selected Best Customer Service Marina in a recent contest conducted by Marinalife. The award was based on boater reviews of the facility; and we're happy to add this accolade to the one we recently received from Real Estate Scorecard for Best Coastal Community. Both of these awards are based on actual customer feedback. Many thanks to all the boaters who voted for River Dunes. Our goal is to constantly improve our facilities and service to boaters, guests and owners!
Lady Anglers at River Dunes
They came, they stayed, they caught fish...
In fact, they caught lots of fish! River Dunes has been delighted to welcome 12 members of the International Ladies Fishing Association for three days of drum fishing. Weather and conditions have been perfect, and the fish have been biting. The ladies, who are staying in River Dunes cottages, have enjoyed morning and afternoon trips out with four captains from Down East Guide Service. Friday evening, Chef Robert will be preparing a special dinner that features some of the fresh fish they have been catching. Good luck and great fishing, ladies!
MS Bikers at River Dunes
This Sunday, the Bike MS riders doing the 75 and 100 mile rides enjoyed a rest/lunch stop at River Dunes. Hundreds of cyclists came through the community and stopped on the lawn by the Harbor Club for water, sandwiches, fruit, and pit stops. We were happy to support such a great effort, and we applaud all our own riders, the River Dunes Roadies! Congratulations on a wonderful ride for a great cause.
A Christening at River Dunes Marina
The Towarnicky family of New Bern, River Dunes Harbor Club members, recently christened their Hunter 456 sailboat, renaming her "Paige". The entire family came for the festivities held aboard the boat and on the dock at Grace Harbor. We wish this wonderful family calm seas, steady breezes, and many good times onboard "Paige".
