Two NC Beaches selected among Top 20 in US

Coastal Living magazine recently published its list of Top 20 Beaches in the US. Included in the roster are two North Carolina beaches that are within an easy hour by boat or car from River Dunes. A perennial favorite beach on many lists is Ocracoke. Located just 50 minutes by powerboat from River Dunes just across Pamlico Sound, Ocracoke is a picturesque village on the NC Outer Banks. It's a popular day or overnight rendezvous spot for River Dunes boaters because of the sightseeing, shops, restaurants and pubs, along with the beautiful pristine beach.

New to the list is Pine Knoll Shores, located on North Carolina's Crystal Coast, accessible via the Intracoastal Waterway or, if you're traveling by car, a free twenty minute ferry ride and short car trip from River Dunes. Pine Knoll Shores offers a wide sandy beach, gentle surf and a selection of great restaurants and shops, as well as the must-see North Carolina Aquarium with special sea turtle exhibit.
