Fourth of July Fun at River Dunes
It was a warm Fourth of July this year; however, in spite of the heat, River Dunes high spirits, good cheer, and great fun made this year's celebration a memorable one.
The festivities kicked off on Wednesday and continued through the weekend. As always, one of the highlights was the River Dunes float in the annual Croaker Festival Parade in Oriental. Louise Stevens and her grandchildren decorated the truck and skiff and rode in the parade on Saturday morning, along with the River Dunes Roadies, our Bike MS cycling team.
Saturday afternoon featured a spirited pool volleyball match, officiated by our own Scott Joros.
On Saturday evening, members and guests enjoyed a delicious All-American Dinner Buffet, followed by a concert featuring Chuck Phillips and Friends.
Sunday morning, River Dunes owners gathered at the Harbor Club for the annual Golf Cart/Bike/Whatever Floats your Boat Parade, followed by mimosas and lunch. Thanks to all who participated!
It was a great weekend, and we're already looking forward to next year's mid-summer celebration.
