Leukemia Cup - Friday Night Events
 The Leukemia Cup Regatta at River Dunes kicked off on Friday evening with a Skipper's Reception and Buffet. Prior to heading upstairs for cocktails and dinner, the skippers received rules from the Race Committee, headed by (l to r) Bill Kirsch, Ken Small, JC Cappelmann of River Dunes, and John Bloom.  Skippers, guests, committee members, and sponsors enjoyed the delicious buffet prepared by Chef Robert of River Dunes Harbor Club.  Multiple myeloma survivor, Eugene Seward of Oriental, shared the story of his struggle with this debilitating disease with the group.  Everyone in attendance listened with empathy to Eugene's story of how the research made possible by funds from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has impacted his treatment options.  Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Executive Director, Tiffany Armstrong, and River Dunes Director of Marina Operations, JC Cappelmann, awarded Mount Gay Rum hats to the top fund-raisers.
